We are a Windhoek-based carpentry and construction firm, that specializes in crafting timber roof structures, staircases, laminated timber, and free-form woodwork.
With a focus on precision and structural integrity, we deliver tailored solutions across residential, lodge, and architectural projects.
Our Services

Experience the unique possibilities of free-formed structures made of Glulam. Free-forms impress with their complexity and individuality.

In recent years we have been very fortunate and confidently challenged with numerous lodge construction projects.

Our Glulam exposed beams are captivating to the eye, and they enhance the aesthetic appeal of all roof structures that we manufacture.

Our wooden stairs are individually adapted to your specifications. We offer a wide range of designs and sizes, be straight or curved shapes with handrails.

We produce Glued laminated timber (Glulam) in straight, curved and multi-axis curved forms, allowing unlimited design freedom.

Timber houses are an alternative to conventional construction and have their own charm. They radiate sanctuary and warmth and contribute to a pleasant indoor climate.

Timber decks allow for a natural warm atmosphere, be it your garden, terrace, balcony or walkway. In our African sun the natural timber used on the decks generates less heat, compared to concrete or stone.
Recent and Notable Projects
At Holzbau Hess, every project tells a story of craftsmanship, innovation, and timber elevated. From free-form roof structures across Namibian landscapes to precision staircases, timber houses and lodge buildings, our portfolio blends functional design with striking aesthetics.
Our Workflow

We start by translating your vision into detailed 3D drawings and CAD models, specifying all structural and aesthetic elements clearly to ensure alignment between design and build.

With the plan in place, our fabrication facility manufactures timber components with millimetre precision, whether straight, curved or bespoke — ready for installation.

Before manufacturing completes, we survey the construction site using theodolite and laser measurement to capture all geometry accurately and ensure each component will fit perfectly on-site.

Finally, we handle logistics and delivery of your timber elements, coordinating timing, securing components in transit and ensuring they arrive ready for assembly.
