Free Form Lodge Building for a New Accommodation of the Gondwana Collection

Nestled deep within the red dunes of Namibia’s iconic Kalahari Desert, the Reverie Kalahari Pod stands as a testament to refined timber craftsmanship and thoughtful architectural design by Holzbau Hess. This bespoke lodge building project was engineered, manufactured and installed to elevate luxury desert accommodation through precision timber construction, blending structural ingenuity with the landscape’s wild serenity.

For this project, Holzbau Hess collaborated closely with the architectural vision of Sven Staby and the Gondwana Collection Namibia, delivering custom‑designed timber elements that harmonise with the organic fluidity of the Pod’s form. Drawing on decades of experience in free‑form glulam and lodge construction, our team brought the concept to life — from detailed engineering through to on‑site assembly — demonstrating our commitment to both aesthetic value and enduring performance.

Reverie’s elegant timber structures not only provide structural sophistication but also enhance the guest experience, marrying natural materials with thoughtful detailing that resonates with the desert’s stark beauty. Through expert fabrication and meticulous installation, Holzbau Hess continues to push the boundaries of timber architecture, creating spaces that are as functional as they are visually striking.
